CT41G Dormant company

Written by OZKAN Accountants

A company is dormant if it has not started and is not about to start any potentially money-making activity. Once your company is recorded as dormant, HMRC will not trouble you for Corporation Tax returns until you start trading.

Tick just one of the five boxes in the middle of the form. Taking these from top to bottom, left to right:

Tick the first box if you have a date planned when your company will start trading. Enter the date in the boxes.

Tick the second if you don’t know when you’ll start trading.

Tick the third if the company has been registered in order to be sold as an off-the-shelf company.

Tick the fourth if you intend your company to go out of existence.

Tick the fifth if there’s a reason for your company to remain indefinitely dormant.

Fill in the details at top and bottom of the form. Highly advisable to photocopy this document before posting to HMRC.Fill in the details at top and bottom of the form. Highly advisable to photocopy this document before posting to HMRC.
